Anika PatelThis is my fourth year of teaching CPR and I am so excited to be part of a group with such awesome people! I think a teacher should be engaging and enthusiastic and I make an effort to exemplify those characteristics when I teach. I love to dance, ski, cook, and swim! My absolute favorite foods are pasta and popcorn. A fun fact about me is that even though I grew up in Texas, I was born at the UCLA hospital! I am pre-med and I hope to one day become a pediatrician.

hieu NguyenI was initially interesting in joining SWC CPR And First Aid because I wanted to make new friends, and have a larger impact in benefitting the health of my community! When I'm not struggling through schoolwork, I enjoy eating with friends all around LA, and letting go of my worries while shooting at archery practice (I also love looking at, petting, and cuddling with dogs of all shapes and sizes). In the future, I hope to be as a pediatric oncologist that works both in the clinic and in the lab, balancing direct patient care while engaging in important research that can greatly improve treatment for childhood cancers.

Britney LyI love teaching and emergency medicine, and this program just so happens to be a blend of the two! It's amazing to see how teaching a few people can have such a large ripple effect on others' lives. I hope to pursue emergency medicine or physical therapy in the future. In my free time, I love to eat (and cook if I ever get better at it), go to concerts, and pet other people's dogs. I'm a huge sucker for art and the outdoors, so if you ask me to do something related to either of the two, I will probably say yes.

Timothy BondacWhat it dooooo! I’m Tim! I’m a third-year biochemistry major who loves dancing salsa and bachata and will seriously jump at any opportunity to dance! Some may chalk that up to the fact that I’m Filipino — I’ll let you be the judge of that. I’ve also spent some time volunteering in Latin America, at which point I fell in love with Latin American culture and the Spanish language.
I joined SWC CPR/FA because I enjoy being able to gift other people with knowledge they can take pride in! More importantly, I truly adore the people with whom I work; I feel that their presence and support makes my experience ever more fulfilling and gratifying. I can’t express how fortunate I am to find my place among this family — I can’t wait to see what’s next! |

Bilal PanditBeing an instructor has really empowered me, giving me the opportunity to spread information about how to act in the case of an emergency. I have been in situations where having knowledge on what to do really played a role in helping someone, and being able to spread this information with others allows me to prepare others if they are ever placed in a similar situations. I love playing a variety of sports, particularly volleyball. I absolutely love food, whether it's trying new things or cooking, as I have been cooking for my family for over 4 years. I am also a big movie fanatic, particularly loving action and superhero movies.

Sofia Lunego-WoodsHi! I'm Sofia and this is my first year as a CPR instructor. Learning CPR gave me the confidence that comes with knowing I'm equipped to handle emergency situations, and I can't wait to empower others by teaching them those same skills. I’m eventually interested in becoming a physician scientist and working at the intersection of research and medicine, but until then you can usually find me stressing over school, watching Netflix, or cross-stitching (if you’re lucky, maybe all three at once!)

Alondra De AndaHiii guys I'm Alondra!!! During my free time I love to hike, cook and watch New Girl. I wanted to be an instructor because I thought having the opportunity to teach would be an amazing skill to learn and it would also help me get out of my comfort zone and meet new people. One thing I regret is not joining CPR earlier! I joined CPR because I believe that everyone can learn this easy, yet crucial skill, potentially saving many lives in our community. When I am not studying or sleeping, I like to dance (even though I can't), hike, knit, and anything food! I don't know in what particular direction I am heading towards in the future, I just know that I want to be able to continue helping people, and that I will be a proud husky mom.
