Diana BibireataThis is my third year as an instructor and it is such a pleasure to be part of a community of passionate and inspiring instructors. I love sharing my skills and knowledge through CPR classes to empower students to potentially save someone's life. In my free time I like to hike, ski, play tennis, climb, and go on road trips. I hope to attend medical school or a physician assistant program in the future but I am still exploring various options!

Chathuri GunasekeraI adore the CPR program so much! These wonderful instructors are some of the funniest, sweetest, and most dedicated people I've ever met. Being an instructor and being part of this family has made me a more confident and loved person and I will always be grateful to them. Outside of school, I love to crochet, bike, do puzzles, cook, and unnecessarily crack my joints. After I graduate, I plan to work as a nurse (more specifically with the adult/older adult population!! love my elderly population!)

christine chowBeing a BLS/CPR instructor has given me the invaluable opportunity to empower others to take an active role in emergency situations. In addition, working alongside such passionate peers to increase community awareness of life-saving skills has been such a humbling experience. MAXIMILLION HAYAMAThis will be my fourth year teaching CPR and I am looking forward to working with all the instructors and the people I teach! My goal is to demonstrate how applicable CPR/FA is in a variety of situations and ultimately raise awareness of the prevalence of sudden cardiac arrest. Some activities I enjoy doing on my free time are listening to chill music, playing basketball, and spending time with friends/family.

Britney lyI love teaching and emergency medicine, and this program just so happens to be a blend of the two! It's amazing to see how teaching a few people can have such a large ripple effect on others' lives. I hope to pursue emergency medicine or physical therapy in the future. In my free time, I love to eat (and cook if I ever get better at it), go to concerts, and pet other people's dogs. I'm a huge sucker for art and the outdoors, so if you ask me to do something related to either of the two, I will probably say yes.

jenny zhangI was motivated to join SWC CPR and First Aid because I took a CPR class through their program, and I was amazed by the knowledge, energy and passion of the instructors! I have since gained a new sense of appreciation for the benefits of having a greater population trained in these life-saving skills. In my spare time, I love to play volleyball, watch sappy rom-coms, and try new foods! I hope to one day work in pediatrics.

Sofia Luengo-WoodsHi! I'm Sofia and this is my second year as a CPR instructor. Learning CPR gave me the confidence that comes with knowing I'm equipped to handle emergency situations, and I can't wait to empower others by teaching them those same skills. I’m eventually interested in becoming a physician scientist and working at the intersection of research and medicine, but until then you can usually find me stressing over school, watching Netflix, or cross-stitching (if you’re lucky, maybe all three at once!)

Alondra De AndaHiii guys I'm Alondra!!! During my free time I love to hike, cook and watch New Girl. I wanted to be an instructor because I thought having the opportunity to teach would be an amazing skill to learn and it would also help me get out of my comfort zone and meet new people. My favorite thing about CPR is that we aren't just a program we are a family first and it's nice to have people you can rely on. In the future I hope to become a doctor or a physician's assistant not sure yet but I hope to focus on the heart or with kids.

shiley davidHello everybody!! My name is Shiley, I am a first year Neuroscience major, and I am thrilled to be a part of the CPR/FA family! Eleven years of theater experience, a passion for education, and the opportunity to foster a community capable of taking action in emergency situations culminate to form the reasons why becoming a CPR/FA instructor excites me beyond belief! In my free time, you can catch me listening to music (probably my Absolute BOPS playlist ft. fan favorites like Party in the USA, Forget You, I Want it That Way, and more!), painting, traveling, at the beach, or reading. Even though it is only my first year, I can already tell that my incredible experience at SWC/CPR is going to be a memory I will look back on for the rest of my life!

meehan chowdhuryI joined CPR because teaching people has become a huge passion of mine during the pandemic. Being able to empower people with life changing and life saving skills is an extremely rewarding opportunity. I am trying to learn how to surf this quarter, although I am absolutely getting bodied by the waves, I am having a blast. I also wanted to learn how to cook but grocery shopping without a car is an absolute pain. Catch me eating out or eating overnight oats.

oscar estradaHey everyone! My name is Oscar and I am super excited to become a part of the amazing CPR family. One of my main reasons for joining this program was because the community seemed extremely supportive and heartwarming and I knew that it would be a great opportunity to build some great relationships. Being a part of this program will also enable me to foster enough confidence in my students to be able to act quickly in emergency situations. On my spare time, I love making playlists on Spotify, working out, skateboarding, watching Netflix, and learning how to play tennis.

Ivy nguyenI see SWC CPR and First Aid as a stepping stone for developing my confidence and also as an opportunity to gain leadership experience. Being able to give back to my community through teaching is something I am really looking forward to and being able to do so surrounded by such a great group is also very exciting.
I love thrifting, outdoor activities (spikeball, volleyball for fun), and artsy things like painting/doodling. I've been told my music taste is pretty sad but some of my favorite artists are Jeremy Zucker, Lauv, and Justin Bieber. |

alexander VervaetHi! I joined the program to give back to the community in an important and fun way, especially through the abundance of jokes we sprinkle into our classes. When I'm not teaching, I like to hang out with friends, exploring LA, or just laying in bed watching Netflix (always taking recommendations). This is my first year as CPR/FA instructor, so I hope to make the most of it! In the future, I want to head on to grad school to get a Master's in Epidemiology/Public Health (I'm not pre-med, shocking I know).

sydney laramieHey I'm Sydney and I'm super psyched to be a part of this team! I joined CPR/FA because I wanted to foster my passions in healthcare and teaching, and this club was the perfect intersection, plus the people are incredible! As an aspiring physician, I'm excited to be involved in the dissemination of life-saving skills and knowledge, especially in a way that addresses healthcare inequities. During my free time, I like to hike, paint, spent time with friends and family, and make countless Spotify playlists! And my favorite food is movie theater popcorn -- I will literally never get tired of movie theater popcorn.
