genny navarreteTeaching CPR is incredibly rewarding because you are able to give ordinary people a slightly heroic quality. Not only do we aid in curbing pre-hospital deaths but also prepare people to respond to emergency situations.
At a school so big like UCLA its nice to be part of a tight-knit small niche like CPR. My fellow instructors have become some of my closest friends! I love animals and hope to be a veterinarian one day. I've had every pet you could possibly have: dogs, cats, parakeets, chickens, fishes, and hamsters. When I'm not volunteering with animals I like to go to beaches, Dodgers games, go for a run, or watch reruns of How I Met Your Mother. |

I love being a CPR instructor with this program because of the dire implications of the class content and the inspiring people I've met along the way. My favorite memory teaching would have to be dressing up as Avatar the last Air-bender lecturing on how to give breaths during our Super CPR event. I hope on completing an Iron Man before I'm 25 and becoming a nurse for either veterans or pediatric oncology.

This will be my second year teaching CPR! My studies in public health have shaped my views on health care and have allowed me to see that health goes way beyond the clinical setting. Through this program I am fortunate to be part of a wonderful organization that allows me to exercise my passions of health promotion and education in my community. Outside of CPR classes, you can probably find me running back and forth between North and South campus (see: interdisciplinary major probz) or find me working at Krieger Child Care Center-a job that I absolutely love!

Esther PelusoHey guys it's Esther! I am a second-year biochemistry major from San Diego. I have an immense passion for teaching CPR because I believe that the information should be common knowledge and I love interacting with students.
