4th year Psychobiology Major
San Jose, CA My favorite part about being an instructor is being able to share my more goofy side with my love of health! I have improved in my confidence, public speaking, and ability to connect with others so much over the past few years. I also am so inspired by all of the instructors in this program who give it life and bring me joy on a daily basis <3 My three favorite things are movies, garlic shrimp dishes, and soup of all kinds. I like to spend my time trying new things, even if I'm terrible at them, and finding the time to sing and dance. My goal is to spend my career in pediatric oncology, public health education, or some combination of the two. We'Ll sEe HoW iT gOeS!! |

4th year MCDB Major
San Diego, CA I first joined CPR/FA because it was one of the few programs that was able to melt my two loves: science and teaching! However, more importantly, I was also looking for community at UCLA, and what I found was a family. These people are legitimately the best humans on Earth and I do not know what my life would be like without them :) I absolutely love to dance, whether it is on the dance floor, in the shower, or in the kitchen. I would also consider myself a foodie who enjoys trying out new cuisines and experimenting with the foods I cook as well. I also love road trips, camping and being with friends and family! |

San Mateo, CA One of my favorite things about teaching CPR is the pile of cringe-worthy jokes the instructors have compiled over the years. It's such a fun time to engage our students and make them crack a smile by throwing in some funny moments as they get a workout from all of those compressions (If you want to see how bad our jokes are, you'll have to take one of our classes yourself!) Some of my favorite things include my two super-sweet dogs, Pippin and Sophie, watching baking shows/videos that I'm not skilled enough to recreate myself, and exploring new places in LA to go hiking or get some amazing food (Especially cupcakes). |

Richmond, CA Hi, I'm Carlyn! I joined CPR/FA during my freshman year and I can wholeHEARTedly say that this program has defined my college experience. Aside from discovering a deep enthusiasm and love for teaching, I've met the most inspiring and passionate people at UCLA who constantly encourage me to grow into the best version of myself. My fellow instructors have become my best friends/family, and the experiences I've had through this program have created memories I'll carry with me forever. Take a class with us and experience for yourself the true #CPRLove. In my free time, I like to kick it with my friends, create new Spotify playlists (and then listen to them on loop for days), and dish out some wicked puns. I intend on pursuing a career in health and medicine, but that is a ways away. For now, I'll stick to teaching CPR, a truly breathtaking experience. |

Davis, CA As a third year instructor, this program has given me the opportunity to improve my teaching skills while surrounded by friends. There's never a dull moment in this club, whether its getting beat by Ekaterina in Kahoot or belting out lyrics by a bonfire. When I'm not teaching, you could probably find me watching/playing sports, hanging out with friends, or taking a nap. In the future, I hope to become a Sports Medicine Doctor so that one day I can help athletes return to the games they love. |

Bakersfield, CA I can easily say being in this program has been one of my best experiences at UCLA. I love being part of a group that promotes health and wellness in our community and empowers people with the confidence to handle emergencies. Also, the tight knit group of inspiring people I've found here is truly like no other. Outside of this program, I like to play volleyball or be outdoors in any way. Real sucker for sunsets and sunrises. I spend too much time watching hours of cooking videos, but never actually make anything. I'm very interested in holistic health, and hope to work at the intersection of food and health in some capacity in the future :) |

Hayward, CA Hey-o! I'm Shan and this is my second year teaching CPR. I'm super duper excited to continue spreading the essential knowledge and skills of First Aid and CPR! I love to just dance around and sing terribly. My favorite sports team is the San Antonio Spurs (fun fact: I was born in San Antonio yeehaw) My future goal is to work in the Pediatrics department and see lots of babies <3 |

San Diego, CA My favorite part of being an instructor with CPR is getting to work with a super amazing team! Teaching a CPR class early on a weekend would seem to be exhausting, but the CPR team is so funny and they have so much energy and enthusiasm that early morning classes end up being really fun! For fun I love to do anything outside (hiking, surfing, diving, etc)! But mostly I love to spend time with my friends and my two beautiful dogs! My long term goal is to work with patients with muscular dystrophy and my short term goal is to appreciate more! :) |

2nd year Nursing Major
Davis, CA We make CPR accessible to a lot of people for super cheap, and that's a pretty rad thing to be a part of. Being a CPR/FA instructor has honestly given me half of the personality I have today. Everyone here is so welcoming and sweet, and there is never a dull day with them! This program has made me a more confident and self-assured person, and has pushed me outside of my comfort zone. My first year with this program wildly exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait for the next three with these goofy folks! In my free time, I love to make/alter clothes! I am also a fan of embroidering and crocheting. After graduation, I hope to work as an ICU or geriatric nurse, but I'm still pretty open to any specialty. |
