Instructor Requirements
- Commitment: Minimum of 1 year
- Training: Participate in 2 days of mandatory instructor training during Fall Quarter
- Teaching: At least 3 classes per quarter (approximately 4 hours each)
- Publicity: 3 - 4 classroom announcements per quarter
- Social: 1 social event/retreat per quarter (We pride ourselves on being a tight-knit family!)
- Attendance: 2 General Meetings per quarter
- Outreach: 1 Public Health Initiative per year
Application Process
1) Submit application (online) by October 16th, 2020 at 11:59 pm.
2) Obtain CPR certification before or after entry into the organization. Deadline TBA
3) Attend a formal interview if offered one on either October 24th or October 25th
4) Upon acceptance, new instructors must***
- Attend the two-day New Instructor Training on October 31st and November 1st. Timings will be detailed on the acceptance email
- Pay a one-time fee that covers the cost of their instructor code certification from AHA and their CPR/FA instructor T-shirt.
- Shadow 2 Fall Quarter CPR classes and 1 first aid class.
***The new instructor trainings and in-person classes are a requirement for instructors to begin teaching. However, due to county guidelines regarding COVID-19, both of these will be put on hold for now and are not expected to be completed for the time being.

- It is strongly recommended that applicants attend these sessions as it will provide them an opportunity to further understand the requirements of an instructor as well as ask any questions that may improve their candidacy for the Instructor position.
